And I have to thank the HORNies and Malloyalists for their contribution; two independent progressive talk shows that are truly progressive and are supportive of my venture in the world of the Unitarian Universalists. It is their constant support and truth talking that made the campaign I was involved in possible so that I can attend the nearly week-long workshop

The purpose of the workshop is to address the issues facing PoC (People/Person of Color) in the U.U. church. For those of you who do not know what a U.U. is, we aren't your typical church. We are non-dogmatic and we have no creed, as individuals, we choose our own path...the path we seek? Truth, enlightenment, justice, equality, equity and everything good. Yet sadly, U.U.s need to improve itself too.  Granted there are Unitarian Universalist members protesting out in the streets:

Especially protesting the injustice of racism. Yet many in the churches don't do the same inside their churches. Many of the PoC feel left out and many are angry. A video by pastor Marisol Caballero says it all:




So the purpose of the fundraiser was to continue on Pastor Caballero's speech to the conference of U.U.s and to actually make change within the churches. I feel that if we can make changes inside, the changes outside our churches would not only be meaningful but when everyone in our churches are equitable, real change can happen. In Greek the word heresy means change, and yes, I am a proud heretic and I plan to make the changes I can make. That's why again, Mike Malloy and Bob Kincaid are two of the most powerful heretics in the progressive world and I thank them both for the platform they have given to the People of Color and to me.
